  2. -Truman believed that if he allowed the communist to control the greek government soon. Greece would be joining the Soviet/USSR Power and this would not help America The Truman Doctrin allowed the United States to help protect the current government in democratic states/Nations.
    -The Marshall Plan was an Idea by George Marshall to rebuild Europe, due to the threat of communism glooming over the area. Congress later passed a bill to rebuild Europe and get the countries standing again. Overtime 12 billion dollars worth of buildings overtime.
    – The National security act was the “revamping” of foreign policies and military establishments in and outside of America owned by the US. The meeting was between the president, vice-president,secretary of state and defense. The Cia was also established at these meetings held by these people and was important to our national security.

    congress passed the economic cooperation act in march 1948. they would have 12 billion for the rebuilding of Western Europe. Europe remained damaged by war and likely to give more information the need to by an inside and outside Communist threat.

  5. Truman doctrine – The doctrine was developed to help out countries of a Democratic government. The Soviet government was thought to help influence the Greek Communist government. The document was a way to say that we will be in a country’s business for ever now.
    Marshall Plan- It was a document trying to get cooperation among all countries and stop communism. This plan was very spend so it was very unlikely for the US government to fund the project.
    National Security Act- The US was in a spot where they were concerned about the national security. This act was able to establish the CIA, to monitor civilian intelligence.

    ~President Truman is trying to help everyone with the same political difficulties. It was like people were buying their friends. We were being the police of everyone. Now because of what Truman has done we have to keep fighting between so many other countries. President Truman believed that the United States had to support/protect the free people.

    ~Europe wanted to rebuild and expand. Congress passed the Economic Cooperation Act on March 1948, which would rebuild the Western Europe for over $12 billion. The Marshall plan was a very great effort and was awarded for it.

    National Security Act
    ~A council called NSC (National Security Council) was created. This council healed many meetings where they would discuss problems and national security crises. The people involved with this were the President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and a couple other close members. From this council another establishment was created. It was the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). They were in charge of gaining intelligence over other organizations. The CIA became involved with the army and was a lot of help.

  9. Truman Doctrine of 1947 was a statement by US President Truman that he would support Greece and Turkey with military and economic aid to prevent a Soviet takeover in these countries.
    The Marshall Plan of 1948 was a scheme to provide economic aid to Europe to help the continent rebuild after WW2.
    Both were part of Containment, Truman’s policy to deal with the threat of Communist expansion after WW2.

    The Marshal Plan was formed to help rebuild Europe from all the damage that was done to it offering much assistance. Stating (Quote)“against any country or doctrine but against hunger, poverty, desperation, and chaos. Its purpose should be the revival of a working economy in the world so as to permit the existence of political and social conditions in which free institutions can exist.”(end Quote)
